Sap to syrup yield
See how much syrup you’ll get from your sap based on sugar content. Finished syrup is typically 66° brix (Rule of 86).
Calculator
Enter sap volume and sugar content. Target brix defaults to 66.
How it works
Sugar in sap is concentrated by boiling. The formula is: syrup = sap × (sap_brix / target_brix). The "Rule of 86" says gallons of sap per gallon of syrup ≈ 86 / sap_brix when target is 66° brix.
